codomomental bulletin #72
On September 6, during a sudden solo concert, Seireki13ya announced their disbandment, which will take place after the group’s upcoming major concert at Kinema Club on November 30.
Thank you for always supporting Seireki13ya. This is the group’s management.
We are informing you that Seireki13ya will disband on November 30, after the concert at Kinema Club.
Debuting on December 15, 2018, and having once gone through a period of hiatus, Seireki13ya resumed their activities on November 25, 2022, thanks to the support of the “Night Minions” and other related parties, and have vigorously continued their journey since then. However, after discussions with each member about the future, we have decided to disband the group.
We sincerely apologize for the suddenness of this announcement.
We also would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the “Night Minions” and others who have supported us throughout this time.During the remaining time of our activities, we want to give our all to the concerts, pouring all our feelings of gratitude into them, so we hope you will continue to support Seireki13ya, as well as Nene Komochi, Yui Urari, and Yowa Minai until the very end.
Seireki13ya Management.1
Official statement.
On November 30, after the concert at Kinema Club, Seireki13ya will disband.
I’m so grateful that I was able to create so many fun memories with you in this dear place of mine called Seireki13ya.
Please let me express these feelings to you through our concerts, until the very end!!
Thank you, truly, for everything.2
The kindness with which you acted as if nothing had happened, the kindness with which you cried with me out of sadness, the kindness with which you seriously shared your feelings with me—but not just that, I received so much more kindness from you.
Not only today but many times before this, I received it from many people, from you.
And like this, little by little, thanks to your kindness, I was able to keep moving forward 💭3

When something important ends, or someone leaves, no matter how many times it happens, it’s always sad.
But everything we’ve gone through, all the feelings and memories—without a doubt, they are real.
And as long as we remember them, in the truest sense, none of it will ever disappear.7

A farewell tour titled Oyasumi kara Asa to Yoru no (おやすみからあさとよるの— a phrase difficult to translate directly, but I would interpret it as “From ‘Goodnight’ until the Morning and Night’s…”) was also announced. It will start in October and include 15 performances. During this tour, all of the currently active codomomental groups will join Seireki13ya.8
To brighten up this sad news a little, I have prepared a partial translation of the group’s recent livestream.9 In it, they touch on some serious and interesting topics, like the reason for Soani’s departure and why the number 13 is in the group’s name, but it’s also full of wildly hilarious moments: you’ll learn about Urari’s ability to hear voices when she takes a bath, how Minai teases Komochi after a recent “Zenkimi” stream, how the girls spend their weekends, and more. This stream took place on August 29, and it’s almost certain that by that time, the decision to disband the group had already been made. However, judging by the energy and spirit exuded by the members, they are ready to fully use the remaining time to make the final period in the group’s life as bright as possible.
Despite the upcoming disbandment, during the same stream, the members announced that the group is planning some new endeavors in October.
On September 13, the group held their first livestream since announcing their disbandment,10 where the girls, of course, touched on this topic as well. Below, you can read Komochi‘s comment on this matter:
How should I say this, no one likes being depressed, right?
So, I hope we can spend the remaining time we have with smiles.
Yes, we, Seireki13ya, smile. We don’t feel sad.
I thought a lot about how to express this, but I couldn’t find the right words.
How should I say it…
There’s no such thing as a positive disbandment, right?
I think so myself.
But at the same time, how should I say… It’s not something negative either.
Life ahead is long, and if you think about living until 80 or 100, there’s still so much ahead for us. And for you, too.
And if thanks to Seireki13ya, our future lives and the future lives of all of you, become, how should I say, even more filled with joy, then we could say that the existence of “Seireki” really had meaning.
That’s how I see it. Plus, it’s not over yet.
Really, like Minai said: it’s better to have fun than to be sad — we feel this way now more than ever.
We’re pumped for all the concerts, with a crazy fire! (using Urari’s catchphrase)
After all, this also applies to Minai and Urari, but we’ve already spent quite a lot of time together.
And for this long period of time, every day we thought about “Seireki,” right?
There wasn’t a single day when we didn’t think about “Seireki.”
Not a single day of slacking off.
Of course, it goes without saying, but we have an audience, people who come to our concerts, and even on days when nothing’s going on, we start a stream, and so many people tune in.
It’s an amazing thing, and because you were with us, there wasn’t a single day I regretted anything.
So, how should I say it, I don’t want anything to change just because it’s coming to an end soon.
Just because the end is near doesn’t mean anything special will happen.
Because all of this has always been special.
Yes, so nothing will change, and we’ll keep giving it our all and enjoying the concerts, so I hope you will also keep coming to our concerts and having fun with the same feelings as before.
Many are probably wondering what the future holds for the members after the group disbands. Komochi responded to this:
Surely many want to know about this, but in reality it’s still not definitively decided.
Yes, but… It’s not something that should be decided in a rush, right? After all, it concerns our future lives. So it would be nice if everyone could think things through calmly and then announce their decision to you. I’d be happy if you could wait patiently.
Many are also wondering whether the group’s final concert will be filmed. According to Komochi, they would like to, but nothing can be said for sure yet. However, it is planned to at least produce an amateur recording.
The girls also hinted that the group’s new music video is being prepared for release.
Unfortunately, the bad news doesn’t end with the disbanding of “Seireki.” On September 14, it was announced that Sagara “Hide Bite The Sun” Tsuzura from futatsuna and Ema Amajiki from USOTSUKINAISHO are leaving their respective groups for personal reasons.11 12
To everyone who has always supported me.
I’m sorry that I can no longer be with you.

Sorry for this sudden announcement.
Ema, thank you for moving forward with me as part of USOTSUKINAISHO for these four months.
Thank you for crying with me during tough times and laughing with me during happy times.I have a dream I want to fulfill, I love music, and there are people who believe in me and are waiting for me, so no matter what happens, I’ll keep singing here. I will keep moving forward.
I hope you continue to support USOTSUKINAISHO.17

Despite Ichiren now being the only member left in the group, she is determined to continue performing, even alone.18
USHIMITSU — a collaborative project between Hashibata Kanari and codomomental, has launched an official account on Twitter. The account has also posted various teasers with music samples from the upcoming project, and something important is expected on October 26.19 It seems to be a debut performance, and it is most likely going to be some kind of major event, as future attendees are advised to clear their schedules for the entire day.
I’m so fed up with these idols quitting over every little thing!
Health issues? Family circumstances?
I’m so sick of them leaving on a slightest whim!
Dangerous girls, dangerous girls, dangerous girls…
Where are the truly dangerous girls?20
From the official Twitter.
Shortly after, the first new member of the group was introduced—Enma (ex. Baka wa Shinu Made Naoranai, B.K.S.N, Hissatsu Emomomomo7, and Frigg The Queen Goddess21). She is also the designer of the unisex brand MAGDALAS.
I don’t want to dig up the past, but I will never forgive anything or anyone, and that’s why I will sing. I will always sing.22

Shortly after, a second member was introduced — U-RiCH. She is a trip-hop artist, and you can check out her music here.
syva shared his thoughts on TOKYO TEFUTEFU‘s recent release “IIIIly”:
It’s been a little over a month since TOKYO TEFUTEFU released their EP of solo songs. I’d like to share my thoughts on this. To be honest, the idea of an EP of solo songs always seemed a little scary to me. This started when Seireki13ya released their EP of solo songs. If my memory serves me right, almost immediately after its release, the members began to leave the group one after another. I remember being really surprised by this: “What? Why?”. From there, my personal hypothesis was born: people who join idol groups are usually not confident in their ability to work solo, but think they can “make it work” in a group. So I think when it comes to solo songs, most people start to get anxious, and some probably don’t want to do it at all. And maybe some feel disappointed when they hear the final product. Although it’s unlikely to be the sole reason for leaving the group, I feel like it could be one of the triggers. So I was worried. However, it seems that the current members of TOKYO TEFUTEFU didn’t have this issue. I’m glad, really glad. In fact, I’m proud of this EP and believe that, no matter what you compare it to, it will hold its ground. In the end, all the songs turned out to be quite heavy in terms of rock, and surely not every idol group would be able to release something like this. I consider it a miracle that the group has such skilled vocalists, and that’s why I wanted to write about it. In any case, if you haven’t heard this release yet, please listen to at least one song, any of them. By the way, I was in charge of mixing this EP, and most of the work was done in Indonesia. This was my first experience mixing abroad, and I gained new confidence that I can handle it without any problems.23
From syva’s blog.
Out of fear of being misunderstood, I speak less and less, and so I usually can only express myself through vague metaphors. And because of that, I’m even harder to understand.
I have to break everything down and simplify it so that my words can be understood.24
Thinking that the concepts in my head, expressed through my words, will naturally be correctly understood by others is foolishness.
Despite being very emotional, I’m terribly bad at expressing my feelings, and so I continue to suffer, unable to digest them.
“Painful,” “fun” — human emotions are too complex to be expressed in a single word.
The god of words is the measure of those who hear them.
That’s why words are so free and so difficult.25

Meanwhile, Not Secured, Loose Ends have begun their new mini-tour titled “I” YUE NO NAGEKI TOUR (which can be roughly translated as “The Lament Born from the Fact that It Is I“). The first performance of the tour took place at the venue Rokudemonai Yoru, which is the location of Kisaragi Megumi’s first collaboration with codomomental (her first work was filming a concert for Shounen ga Milc, who was still known as syam at the time).26
Additionally, at one of the recent release events,27 the members described their new song as “cool,” “playful,” and “different from ‘GENESIS’.” As a reminder, the group’s next release, “VanilLament,” will be out on October 9th.
I translated another interesting and informative article from GESSHIRUI‘s blog, where the lyricist delves into deep details and intriguing aspects that accompanied the formation of Not Secured, Loose Ends and the work on their first original song:
“We wanted to change the foundation of the group.”
To be honest, I couldn’t fully comprehend what had happened. On January 2, 2021, at the Shibuya Quattro club, Yukueshirezutsurezure disbanded. Yukueshirezutsurezure was the second group founded by codomomental, and they began their activities in December 2015. It was an experimental project based on the concept of “exhaustion and fury.” A unique feature of the group was that all the members used scream vocal techniques. From the start, the group experienced many ups and downs. I would like to delve deeper into this topic, but then the text would become too heavy for reading, so today I’d like to focus on what’s current.
Today, I want to talk about the first single of Not Secured, Loose Ends, called “GENESIS.”
Since the producer and other members of the production team grew up on Western music, punk, emo, and hardcore, from the moment codomomental INC was founded, you could feel the influence of these genres in our works. Japanese artists singing in English often perform music in the punk/emo/hardcore genre, and naturally, this did not pass by our production team either. Therefore, it wasn’t surprising that the group Not Secured, Loose Ends, performing Yukueshirezutsurezure’s songs in English, came into being. Rather, the question arises, why didn’t we do this from the very beginning… Thinking about it, it seems there was a significant influence from envy. This band, which is described as lyrical hardcore, started as a typical hardcore band under the name BLIND JUSTICE, but after rebranding as envy, they gradually evolved into their current style. Perhaps that’s why, when the producer talked about Not Secured, Loose Ends (NSLE), I easily accepted the idea of creating a group in such a format.
Currently, NSLE includes four members: Mei Yui Mei (leader), Higaminari Yuchiomi, Yuzuriha Ouhi, and Kisaragi Megumi. Higaminari Yuchiomi is a newcomer (a very funny, charming, understandable, and show-offy personality, while also so wonderful that a third work featuring her is already on the way). All the other members are leaders of their own groups. However, even this lineup seemed quite logical to me. By the way, as was already mentioned in one of the streams, it was initially planned to be Mei Yui Mei’s solo project, and therefore the songs for “OUROARBOROS” were chosen so that she could perform them alone.
And the fact that, due to various circumstances, it was decided that the group would operate with its current lineup… Would it be more appropriate to say “this was natural” or “this was inevitable”? No, it was inevitable. It seems that the demo created by syva changed the group’s fate.
Please read further only if you’re genuinely interested.28
In the continuation of the article, the author touches upon the peculiarities of the approach to working on the “GENESIS” lyrics, in contrast to Yukueshirezutsurezure songs, the difficulties experienced by the members due to the need to adapt to a new group, and the related behind-the-scene details, about the fundamental difference in the approach to NSLE‘s activities from “Tsurezure”… You will also learn about the important role Kisaragi Megumi played in the life of Yukueshirezutsurezure from the group’s foundation, around which inviolable rule all the group’s later activities were built up until its dissolution, and more.

And you can check out the translation of another interesting and unique article, where GESSHIRUI speaks very openly and in great detail about the specifics of codomomental groups’ activities. The lyricist highlights the unenviable role and heavy burden carried by the leaders of the groups, who are forced to endure cruel injustices. At the same time, the text addresses some very harsh and sensitive topics that are almost never discussed publicly and usually escape the notice of fans.
